Michael Williams focuses his practice on real estate and corporate law. His experience in real estate law encompasses zoning matters, residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural transactions, and condominium law. His corporate practice includes the structuring of new companies as well as the purchase and sale of existing companies. Mr. Williams is a graduate of the University of Memphis (B.A., J.D.) and has been in practice since 1973.
Mr. Williams has lectured in the areas of construction law, condominium and association law, and real estate law to members of the legal profession as well as other related professions. He has handled the purchase of two large office buildings in downtown Memphis as well as bond refinancing of multiple health-related facilities and Freddie Mac refinancing of a large apartment complex. He has also created the legal documentation for over twenty condominium developments throughout the city and for two major urban developments.
Mr. Williams is a director and former chairman of the Memphis Development Foundation. He is a past Grand President of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and a member of Lindenwood Christian Church. He has served as co-chairman of the Memphis Symphony Ball and chairman of the Memphis Brooks Museum wine auction. He has been active in the legal profession as president of the Memphis Young Lawyers, vice-president of the Tennessee Bar Association, and a director of the Memphis Bar Association. He is listed in the prestigious publication Best Lawyers in America. He is a member and former president of the Memphis Wine and Food Society and regent of Commanderie de Bordeaux.
