A prominent Memphis law firm has added two shareholders.
Evans Petree PC recently appointed Joshua Baker and Russell Hayes as shareholders in its estate planning practice group.
“As we continue to grow the firm to best serve our clients, we are excited to deepen our estate planning bench with Josh and Russell’s experience,” Joe Getz, president of Evans Petree, said in a statement. “They bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to an extensive, client-focused approach.”
Throughout his career, Baker has represented a wide range of clients in the areas of estate planning, business planning, contracts and transactions, probate, and real estate.
Baker is a member of the Memphis Estate Planning Council and was a past chair of the estate planning and probate section of the Memphis Bar Association. He was also recognized as a Rising Star by Mid-South Super Lawyers.
Before practicing law, Baker served in the United States Marine Corps. He has a juris doctorate/MBA from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
Hayes works with clients in the areas of estate planning, business formation and succession planning, trust and estate administration, probate, conservatorships, and a variety of transactional law.
He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He served as a research assistant to U of M professor Andrew J. McClurg. He also earned the CALI award in contracts and insurance law.
Evans Petree is the third-ranked Memphis law firm by number of attorneys, according to MBJ research.
The 119-year-old firm has offices in East Memphis and Downtown, as well as in Franklin, Tennessee, and Oxford, Mississippi.
